During an informal Council conversation Tuesday evening (February 15, 2022), a plan to relax Covid restrictions was affirmed.
Because Anne Arundel County Covid infections have diminished sufficiently the following changes are made.
Beginning Sunday, February 20:
• Mask wearing during worship is recommended but not required.
• Masks are still required in classrooms for the time being.
• Pastor Earl will not wear a mask while leading worship, but will wear a mask when in close contact with others at other times in the building.
• Social distancing is still encouraged, and seating will be in every other pew. We are indoors with limited ventilation, and we are still singing, two higher risk activities.
• Communion will be by pre-packaged elements this Sunday.
• Choirs are pre-recorded.
Beginning Sunday, February 27:
• Communion will use communion wafers, wine, and grape juice.
• We will be celebrating First Communion with 7 young people.
• Get Connected Café will re-open between services.
Please be patient with us. As we transition back into some of these practices, there will likely be things we miss and things that seem to come back very slowly. We are doing the best we can. Remember, the ground has shifted under us all.
As these changes take place, we will also begin to increase the opportunities for you to step into worship leadership roles, including communion assistants, greeters, ushers, acolytes, altar guild, readers, livestream production and more. Sign-up sheets will be available online in coming days and at worship. Please consider stepping into roles you’ve not taken on before.
Worship times are not changing!
Some may be aware that there was a proposal to reduce the number of worship services on Sunday mornings. That will not take place. We will continue our worship on Sundays at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. and will continue to livestream the 11:00 a.m. worship service.
Ash Wednesday worship will be at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 1, 2022.
